Alleged Nokia Searay for T-Mobile Germany image leaks

A very legit looking image of the Nokia Searay has just been leaked by The Nokia Blog. The image is allegedly from T-Mobile Germany and has a short description of the phone on the side.
If we translate the text to English, we get the following result:

Drive safely to your destination with Nokia - including 3D. Representation and voice navigation Windows Mobile 7.5 (Mango) operating system. 3.7" brilliant domed AMOLED display.

The phone itself looks identical to the N9, as it did in all the previous leaks, which means it is also very easy to fake it. Just like The Nokia Blog, we're finding it a bit hard to swallow that Nokia would call the final version of the phone by the name 'Searay'. More so because recently Nokia had a poll to decide the name for their series of Windows Phone 7 devices, with options like Phoenix, Genesis, etc. This means the actual phones will probably be called something like the Nokia Genesis N1 instead of simply Searay.

Things are yet to get finalized though, so eventually they might just go with individual names instead of having a name for the series. Whatever it is, we'll find out before the end of this year.

SugarSync for iOS users gets and update, iPhone/iPad users rejoice

Earlier this year SugarSync brought their smartphone-to-PC free syncing service to Android users everywhere.
Making a name for themselves with iOS, SugarSync are now ready to push the next version of their service to iPhone and iPad users everywhere, which includes a heap of new functionality.

For starters they’ve made interface improvements primarily based on user feedback. You can now sync folders individually, organise photos alphabetically or chronologically and there’s now batch processing when it comes to copying, moving or deleting photos or albums.

Also another key new feature is the integrated notes service. Alongside photos, SugarSync now allows you to create syncable notes that pertain to album or photo content or anything you want to write about really.
It’s good news for fans of an already popular service on Apple’s turf, but it’s now a case of what happens to the non-iOS users. Does the Android SugarSync app get left out in the cold, or will they take steps to sweeten things up there too?

Samsung announces Omnia W, we go hands-on

Windows phone 7 Mango update is coming any moment now and so are the first phones that will have it stock right out of the box. HTC has already announced the Mango-based Titan and Radar, so today is the Samsung's turn - meet the Omnia W.

The Omnia W packs a 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen and is based on the Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset with a 1.4GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 graphics and 512MB RAM. Since Microsoft has strict policy about the hardware there is very little space Samsung to innovate.
The rest of the specs are pretty much standard - a 5 megapixel snapper with a LED flash, a 720p camcorder, a front-facing VGA camera, 8GB internal storage, a 1500mAh battery and the usual connectivity (Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth).

Samsung Omnia W runs on the latest Windows Phone 7 Mango version and there are just few Samsung apps you can download for free to get something unique with your phone, since Microsoft forbids customizations.

According to GSMInfo.nl the Omnia W is expected this November for about €450 for the unlocked device.

We also got a chance to play around with the Omnia W. It's nicely compact and not too heavy. The battery cover is made out of brushed metal (a nice touch!) but the rest of the body is plastic. Still, the Omnia W feels solidly built.
On the front, there's the 3.7" SuperAMOLED screen with WVGA resolution. Below that is the Windows key flanked by capacitive back and search keys. There's a half-pressable shutter key on the side as it's customary for Windows Phones.

Unfortunately, the phone had a rather bad case of a dead battery, so we can’t share any impressions about actually using the phone. We bet, however, it won't be long before we get one-on-one with the Omnia W again.

Touch panel issues to delay the iPhone 5 shipments

Issues with the touch panels, produced by one of Apple's suppliers will, reportedly, be causing a delay in the shipments of the next iPhone. According to the latest rumors, the defect panels are going to render Apple unable to meet the initial shipping targets for their upcoming smartphone.

The panels in question are manufactured by Wintek and are allegedly suffering from a "delayed bubble" issue which becomes apparent only later during the in the process of assembly. Since Wintek is delivering about 20-25% of the touch panels for the next iPhone, the supply shortages shouldn't be too dramatic, but that also depends on how the other suppliers are doing.

We are yet to see if that new turn of events will affect the actual announcement of the next iPhone. Previously, we heard that the unveiling will take place on October 4th, but that hasn't been confirmed by Apple just yet.

Galaxy S II global sales pass the 10 million mark

The hit smartphone Galaxy S II has surpassed the 10 million landmark in global sales. It managed to achieve this in just five months of going on sale.
The previous record holder in Samsung's fleet was the Samsung Star S5230, which managed to cross the 10 million mark in six months. The hot selling Galaxy S managed to achieve the same in about seven months. Being significantly more expensive than both, the fact that the Galaxy S II managed to reach the sales figure in a shorter period of time is quite an achievement.

Then again, this is not surprising. The Galaxy S II has struck a chord with the smartphone buyers thanks to its awesome features and performance and people are shoveling their money at Samsung just to get their hands on the best smartphone on the market right now. Now that the phone has started selling in the US as well, the next landmark will probably take even less time.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S now available, online at least

Although we've heard no word of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S in stores, we've spotted it on one online retailer's website and no doubt it'll start cropping up elsewhere soon.

The Arc S is an uprated version of Sony Ericsson's previous flagship the Arc. The key difference being the improved 1.4GHz processor (compared to the Arc's 1GHz). Beyond that the S is effectively the same device but that's not a bad thing.
Highlights include the top-notch 4.2" LCD with Sony's BRAVIA engine to really make it 'pop'. There's 512MB of RAM, an 8MP camera capable of 720p HD video at 30fps with continuous auto-focus and a new 3D sweep panorama mode, a feature previously reserved for the likes of Sony Cybershot cameras like the TX-9. The most impressive thing about the sweep being that it creates a 3D image using the S' single lens camera. Also we should add that we've checked with SE personally and the same feature should be coming to Arc users in the not too distant future so there should be no bad blood between Arc and arc S users.

The Arc S will be available in Pure White , Gloss Black , Misty Silver , Midnight Blue and Sakura Pink and if you want one now, check out the source link and have $528.50 spare. Still unsure, check out our coverage of the original Arc here to get an idea of what you could be picking up.

Update: Although we have no confirmed date yet, mobile carrier Three will definitely be getting the Xperia arc S, alongside Sony Ericsson's Live with Walkman. Thanks to Ahmed for this one.

Huawei Vision: Premium Android goodness from Huawei

In Beijing earlier this week, Huawei unveiled its latest Android device and it promises to be one of their 'sexiest' smartphones yet. The Vision is a stylish droid that fits in at the upper end of the Huawei's smartphone portfolio and has a promising spec sheet that matches its sophisticated image.

The Vision will come running Gingerbread 2.3 and totes a 3D carousel UI, which is in fact a modified version of SPB's Shell 3D launcher. The device's construction consists of an aluminum alloy uni-body which measures just 9.9mm thick at its thinnest point and weighs in at a reasonable 121g. It uses a 3.7" capacitive display on the front and a 5MP camera with a single LED flash on the back, capable of 720p HD video recording.

Hardware is certainly capable with a single-core 1GHz MSM 8255-1 Snapdragon chipset, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of ROM, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, a microSD slot that can take cards up to 32GB, a microUSB 2.0 port, a 1400mAh battery, A-GPS, an FM radio, a proximity and brightness sensor and customisable back covers available in charcoal, silver or rose gold.

So there are a few omissions that need to be cleared up like 3G connectivity and screen resolution, but all in all it's a device not to be sniffed at with looks akin to an HTC Legend crossed with a Nexus S and hardware similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S, a competent device that aims higher than some of it's brand siblings for sure. If you're interested by the Huawei Vision it's coming to 'selected markets' in September of this year.

Orange Switzerland to unleash the Nokia N9 on September 15th

As you may be aware, the N9 is the swan-song device that represents the end of the Nokia/MeeGo marriage. A fitting end but still a sad one to be sure.

The N9 has received plenty of praise during its pre-release life from reviewers and industry types to boot. Even we have had the pleasure of being charmed by its unique user experience and its wonderful design.

But of course despite all the buzz surrounding its existence and its lifespan, it still hasn't actually been unleashed on the general public. One of a small handful to put a time to the release of the N9 however has been Orange Switzerland. Their online store quotes the N9's expected arrival from September 15. Wonderful news, especially to those who are MeeGo fans.

In case you're not fully clued up, the Nokia N9 is the latest and last MeeGo device from Nokia as they plan to turn their efforts into pushing Windows Phone 7 in a big way. This device will be coming to a host of territories but missing out on some pretty big markets, including the US and the UK, this news correlating with likely launch locations of Nokia's first WP7 device, an effective doppelgänger of the N9, the Nokia W9 Sea Ray.

With only hints of pricing, there's nothing more we can confirm at this time, but if you want to know more about the device there are a host of articles (linked throughout this post) on the N9 along with our hands-on which you can read here, some camera samples you can admire here and the full spec list which you can read here.
So are you one of the lucky Swiss citizens who plans on picking up an N9 or are you in the unenviable position of being stuck in a part of the globe where the N9 won't be showing its face, let us know in the comments.

LG promises OTA updates to smartphones, new customer care

The LG OTA updates app and remote assistance services got their debut in Korea and now LG is making it clear it will offer the same services widely to Europe, the Asia Pacific region and South and Central America throughout the second half of the year to its premium line of Optimus smartphones - the Black, 2X and 3D.

First off, customers will get the FOTA app - "firmware over-the-air" so they can get the most current updates for their phones wirelessly (as other makes offer them). This way LG Optimus owners will get software updates directly to their phones without the need to connect to a PC.

The remote call service will be region and operator-dependent and will connect users to a member of customer service through 3G or Wi-Fi, should a problem occur with their phones. Thus users won't have the need to necessarily visit an LG Customer Information Center or a service-station. This will be done through the pre-loaded "Remote Call" application.

Once the user is registered, LG's remote customer care assistants will get wireless access to the smartphone in order to quickly see what the problem is. Customer Information Center assistants won't get access to private information like emails, messages, pictures and calendars unless the customer has consented to it.

Both services will be made available in the second half of this year.

Apple and Samsung outstrip Nokia as top smartphone vendors in Q2

Q2 of 2011 is now almost over and the results are in for the smartphone shipments volumes. Just a week ago it became certain that Apple has surpassed Nokia in smartphone shipments for Q2 but now Samsung and HTC have released their numbers. Strategy Analytics confirm that Apple has come out on top with 20.3M shipped iPhones, Samsung is a whisker away with 19.2M in second place, while Nokia is the only Top 3 manufacturer to report a decline in year-to-year numbers with 16.7M (Q2 of 2010 - 23.8). Interestingly enough, HTC is probably at the fourth place with 12.1M smartphones shipped between April and June.

The only thing that stands between a certain fourth spot and HTC are the LG smartphone shipments results for Q2 2011. Since the manufacturer decided not to disclose the numbers and went with total phone shipments all we're left with is a guessing game. Still, some estimates point that LG plans to ship little over that 20M smartphones for the whole year so it couldn't have shipped more than HTC this quarter alone. We can't know for sure though. You can find HTC's detailed report here.

With the way the tides have turned in the last year, the smartphone market share has grown by 76.3%, which was reported by Alex Spektor, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics. The trend is that year after year smartphones will carve themselves a more important role in our lives.

Judging by the intense rumors of a 6 September iPhone announcement we could be looking at even more impressive Q3 Apple results.

Facebook Messenger now available for iPhone and Android – gives iMessage and Skype a run for their money

Facebook released today a brand new (separate) app, called Facebook Messenger for the iPhone and Android devices. It combines all of your messages into a single app and can be used to text your Facebook buddies via your profile or text message, via your carrier.

Also 9to5Mac have uncovered that the app (both for the iPhone and Android) has a top-secret video component to it, which would mean that the Palo Alto-based company is on route to rub shoulders with Skype (among others) by bringing cross-platform video calls.

Facebook Messenger aims to give you a better way of reaching your friends and contacts by unifying your entire correspondence with everyone (social network friends, email and phone contacts) into one single app. The Facebook Messenger is an extension of the Facebook messages service and you can send messages to your online friends, but you can also send texts to your acquaintances the regular SMS way.

Starting up the app brings you to a list, consisting of all your Facebook messages. To write a message to someone you just tap the compose icon in the top right corner and start typing the person’s name. If a person has more than one number to his/hers contact details the app prompts you to select which number to use. You can, naturally, just select Facebook messages and send an online message.
There’s added support for group conversations and a geo-tag option so you could let people know where you are.
This all looks swell and okay, but I just have to ask – iMessage anyone? It does look similar to the Facebook Messenger and add all the other details to the lot and it could easily step on Viber, WhatsApp, Tango and other services’ shoes. It seems a little underhandedly done by the big blue social network leader. But I guess in today’s technologically social times competition is tough, ruthless and has no regard for integrity.

Have any thoughts on the matter? Share them in the comments – we’d love to get your inputs.

Here are some direct download links to the apps – iTunes and Android. So far only the iPhone is listed as an iOS-supported device so iPad and iPod Touch users will have to wait a while longer. Facebook has put up an official page for the new service – check it out here.

Nokia X7-00 review: The stealth xpress

Introduction

Dressed to kill and with a fresh coat of paint on the interface, the Nokia X7 is keen to show there's still fight left in Symbian. The screen is a definite high point and the stainless steel body is fashioned like a stealth jet fighter. Symbian Anna adds in features that have been lacking in the OS, closing the gap on the competition.

The Nokia X7 combines stainless steel and Gorilla glass into one seriously attractive package. It boasts stereo speakers (just two, rather than four as you might think looking at it) to justify its Xseries spot and an 8MP camera with 720p video recording.

The screen impressed us quite a bit as you'll see in our hardware chapter but that's not all we liked about the hardware. The software changes are not as far-reaching as we would have liked, but there are some key developments that that give Symbian a usability boost.

Here's the short version of what the Nokia X7 is about and what didn’t work out very well.

Key features

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
Penta-band 3G with 10.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA support
Stainless steel body 4" 16M-color AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of 640 x 360 pixel resolution; Impressive brightness and Gorilla glass protection
8 megapixel fixed-focus camera with dual-LED flash and 720p video @ 25fps recording; geotagging, face detection, smart zoom in video
Symbian Anna OS
680 MHz ARM 11 CPU and 256 MB RAM
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
GPS receiver with A-GPS support and free lifetime voice-guided navigation
Digital compass
microSD card slot (8GB card pre-installed)
DivX and XviD video support
Built-in accelerometer and proximity sensor
Standard 3.5 mm audio jack
Stereo FM Radio with RDS
microUSB port
Flash and Java support for the web browser
Stereo Bluetooth 3.0
Excellent audio quality
Smart dialing and voice commands
Social networking integration

Main disadvantages
Symbian Anna is still catching up with Android and iOS
Uncomfortable volume rocker, SIM tray and microSD card slot
Camera lacks auto focus, oversharpens images
Relatively limited 3rd party software availability
No office document editing (without a paid upgrade)
Battery life is not on par with the best in business

Symbian 3.2 and 5.0 get a browser and navigation update

Nowadays taking care of its latest smartphones is mandatory for every manufacturer with any kind of long term ambitions. However releasing an update for three-year old smartphones, ranging from entry level phones to former high-enders, and showing their owners that they aren't forgotten should certainly earn Nokia some bonus points.

The Finnish company just announced through their blog that they will be releasing an update for their Symbian 3.2 and 5.0 platforms. There's a whole bunch of handsets running those - check out the lengthy list:
Nokia E72
Nokia E52
Nokia E5
Nokia C5-00
Nokia 6700 slide
Nokia C6-00
Nokia C5-03
Nokia 5230
Nokia 5235
Nokia 5250
Nokia X6
Nokia N97 mini
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
Nokia 5530 XpressMusic
Nokia 5530 XpressMusic

The update will bring the new Nokia browser v7.3 to the aging phones, which should significantly improve their browsing experience. This is the same browser that owners of newer Symbian phones will get when the Anna update is released. The benefits of the new browser include improved performance, support for International Domain Names (IDNs) and also supports non-ASCII letters such as Arabic or Chinese.

The other major feature of the firmware update is the updated Ovi Maps app. The software offering free voice-guided navigation will go to version Ovi Maps 3 SR4 on Symbian 3.2 devices, bringing indoor positioning through WiFi, as well as travel and recommendation services such as those through Lonely Planet. Those with Symbian 5.0 devices will get Ovi Maps 3 SR6, adding public transport lines and check-in services to social networking sites.

The final good bit about this update is the addition of a set of emoticons to the listed devices, which can be used when sending MMS.

Nokia C6-00 and Nokia 5230 are already eligible for the update, while the rest of the smartphones will get it in the next few weeks. So make sure you have the software update autocheck switched on in your phone.

Galaxy S II breaks Samsung's records, sells 3 million in 55 days

Unless you were hanging out with the sherpas in the Himalayas you probably must have heard a lot about the Samsung Galaxy S II. To say it was well-received would be an understatement as almost everyone we knew had already got one or was planning on getting one. But now we have the official figures from Samsung and we know just how well they did. Unsurprisingly, they did very well.
The Galaxy S II went on to break Samsung’s own record and sold over three million units in the 55 days since its launch. That’s approximately 50,000 phones a day. According to Samsung, most of these phones were consumed by Europe.

If you think these figures aren’t all that impressive, you should know that the Galaxy S II is yet to go on sale in the US. Had it been international launch, the figures would have been much higher. But even at the rate at which it is currently going, it won’t take long for it to break the 10 million record set by Galaxy S.

LG brings a dual-screen QWERTY droid like you've never seen.

The Android-based LG phone you are about to see is a pretty standard smartphone until the moment you slide out the QWERTY keyboard. There you'll find another touchscreen right in the middle of it. Awkward, isn't it?

Ok, this is not the first dual-screen LG smartphone with strange design we meet. A few weeks ago we informed you about the US Cellular headed LG Genesis. As a comparison it had a rather uninspiring hardware, with even less useful second touchscreen (it could have been made as a slider, that way the

Anyway, this fella here still has no name and was shown at an event held by Orange and Kineto Wireless in London. It was about Kineto's Smart WiFi solution and this LG handset was part of the demonstration.

The device has a big enough capacitive touchscreen (most probably WVGA) and a second touchscreen in the middle of the QWERTY keyboard. The guys over at Pocket-Lint had only a couple of minutes with the gadget and they couldn't find any other purpose of the second screen except the dedicated 8 shortcuts (two of them were customizable).
The mysterious LG handsets was a T-Mobile USA branded device and according to a previously leaked roadmap it might turn out to be FLIP II or Maxx Q.

Nokia E6 is coming to America, available for pre-order at Amazon

Shortly after the Nokia X7 became available in the United States, the other Symbian Anna running creation from the Finnish giant made it across the Atlantic as well. Of course, we are talking about the QWERTY and touch screen equipped Nokia E6. You can now pre-order the successor of the highly popular line of E7X devices at the Amazon online store in the U.S.

The price for being one of the first to sport the latest and greatest Symbian creation is $446. Not too shabby for an unlocked, contract free, business oriented smartphone which supports the 3G bands of both local GSM operators (AT&T and T-Mobile).

As you can see in the picture, the shipping time of the Nokia E6 is estimated to be between one and two months. While we would have definitely preferred something more specific, we also managed to calculate that the U.S. availability of the smartphone will almost coincide with the launch of the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 - RIM's latest offspring which has the exact same form factor. Yes, we know that the Nokia handset doesn't stand a chance against the berry in terms of popularity. It will however, provide the same functionality to those who want to be different.

You can check out our preview of the Nokia E6 here. As always, your opinions are welcome in the comments section below.

Apple iOS 5 review: First look!

Introduction

It's June again, time for Apple to make headlines. The WWDC is over and the iOS 5 and the iCloud are now official. It won't be before the fall though that the iOS 5 will officially launch.

However, Apple has given us a taste of the iOS 5 by releasing a developer preview soon after the announcement. We went on to update an iPhone 4 with the beta release and we are ready to share our first impressions.

But before we continue, let's take a look at the most important features to premiere on the iOS 5.

 Apple iOS 5 new features:

Notifications - real time on-screen notifications, lockscreen notifications and pull-down Notification Center
iMessage service in the Messaging app enabling instant messages to other iOS users
Reminders - including location-aware options
Customizable notification sounds - email, voicemail and calendar alerts
Twitter integration
iCloud service integration
Enhanced Camera app - viewfinder grid, hardware shutter key
Integrated photo editing - crop, auto enhance, rotate and red-eye fix
Updated Safari - tabbed browsing (on iPad), private browsing mode, integrated Reader, Reading list and optimized performance
Dictionary lookup throughout the interface
Computer free operation - independent activation, OTA updates, iCloud backup and restore
Wi-Fi synchronization with iTunes with automatic operation
New features in the Mail app - Bold, Italic, Underline and Quote options, extended Search, mass Mark as Read/Unread and Flag setting, Add/Delete mailbox folders
Updated Calendar and Game Center apps
Newsstand app combining all of your magazine subscriptions
iPod player now called Music, has new icon
Separate Video app for iPhone
AppStore purchase history (already available for iOS 4 too)
New Storage management options (list and info of all installed apps)
Multi-tasking gestures for iPad
AirPlay mirroring for iPad
New accessibility options involving the LED flash and custom vibrations

Typically, there's still plenty of stuff missing and some of the things will probably never make it to the iOS. Here is a list of the things we continue to miss:

Still missing:

No Flash support in the web browser
No quick toggles for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G
No Facebook integration
No proper widgets for the lockscreen
App folders still are limited to 12 apps tops
No DivX/XviD video support out of the box (though there're lots of players in the App Store)
No USB Mass storage mode for uploading content to the device
No haptics for the touchscreen
No Bluetooth file transfers to other phones
Contacts lack a swipe-to-delete or mass delete feature

Well, the list is notably shorter than last year's. It's debatable though whether Apple listened to the users or just filled their time with low-priority features that have been on the list for quite some time. Either way, some of the new stuff is quite good so let's waste no more time on introductions. Follow us on the next page where we start to explore the iOS 5 at close range.

Leaked LG teaser pic shows new Optimus, could it be the Nexus 3?

A new LG teaser pic shows a mysterious Optimus device - the same as the recently leaked photo of the next Google Nexus. The best part is this info reportedly comes from an LG employee from the Indonesian branch and should be reliable.

Remember the leaked Nexus 3 picture? As the rumor has it, it is supposed to be either LG or HTC built. Today's Optimus leak suggests it will be LG's.

There is nothing beside those leaked pictures, but we think it's a good start. HTC is manufacturer behind the Nexus One, Samsung made the Nexus S and it seems now is LG's turn to bring us the Nexus 3.
The picture is posted on a forum by a user that works for LG Indonesia, so this sounds quite reliable. So, LG, it's your turn. Let's hope you won’t let Google down on this job.

Nokia is on route to posting next quarterly results at a loss

We already knew Nokia was expecting a lower profit in the second quarter of the fiscal year, but according to analysts, Nokia won't even make any profit whatsoever. According to a Reuters report, the mobile phone manufacturer will report a loss for this (Q2) and next (Q3) quarters.

Apple's iPhone and Google's Android are to be blamed for the current Nokia situation. Even at the market of lower-end devices and feature phones the Finnish company is losing ground to a tough competition coming from China.

However, the company should pick itself up and dust itself off for the Q4 by announcing its first batch of Windows Phone 7.5 powered devices at Nokia World in October. While there's no official announcement, Nokia and Movistar Equador have teamed up to offer an app competition. The winner will grab a ticket to London for the Nokia World event so we know both the place and month of Nokia's biggest event in the year.

Could this be the GSM version of HTC EVO 3D?

HTC showcased the EVO 3D back in March, which was their first phone capable of recording images and videos in 3D. That phone, however, was intended for Sprint’s CDMA network. But HTC may just have a GSM version of the EVO 3D up its sleeve

Pocketnow.com came across these images on HTC’s website. The one on the extreme left is the one that they initially announced, the one in the middle that was put up on HTC’s website but later pulled and the last one that appeared on HTC’s developer website and the one that we are going to talk about.

Notable differences between this and the others include a lack of circles around the keys below the display, which were exclusive to the HTC phones on Sprint's network. Along the side, the volume control button, camera shutter button and the 2D/3D mode switch have been redesigned. On the back the camera lenses don’t have the red surround and the window for the LED flash has a different design.

It’s also running an older version of Sense but if you look carefully at the icons you can see that it’s because the screen does not belong to the phone but it’s just pasted there from some other HTC phone. The EVO 3D has a qHD display which makes the icons look smaller with more gaps between them as is evident from the other two phones but this one looks more like the one on phones running WVGA screens.

All this point toward the fact that this slightly redesigned handset might just be the GSM version of the EVO 3D. If this is true it won’t be the first time HTC has done this. They created GSM versions of existing CDMA phones before, for example, the Desire HD is virtually a clone of the EVO 4G. Perhaps this could be the Desire 3D?

EVO 4G gets Gingerbread update, breaks Netflix support

Sprint recently announced that they will be updating their first 4G handset, the HTC EVO 4G, to the latest version of Android this Friday and just as they promised the update is now available to download to anyone who’s willing to manually check.

According to the official changelog, the 2.3 update brings with it some bug fixes to the Gmail and messaging application along with the usual Gingerbread goodness.

However, we are also hearing reports of compatibility issues with the Netflix application after updating. Netflix has acknowledged this issues and is currently investigating it. So if Netflix playback is important to you, you might want to hold on to the update till the official fix comes out.

What is ip address ? and how to hide it ?

hi frnds,
so now i'm going to write some useful info about ethical hacking stuffs but first you have to know what is an ip address ?

> ip is a short form of internet protocol ,
Internet Protocol Address (or IP Address) is an unique address that computing devices use to identify itself and communicate with other devices in the Internet Protocol network. Any device connected to the IP network must have an unique IP address within its network.same as our cell number . so before any ethical hackers or black hat hacker will start there hacking they hide there real ip address , every ip address of the internet are provided by isp (internet service provider ). don't be confused between static ip address & dynamic  ip address ! dynamic ip are used in internet. when the static ip is configured by a normal user means it can be configered in local computer network . to know your ip visit this site : www.whatismyip.com to learn more about ip just click here
okay so how they hide ther ip ?
>so if you wanna hide your ip , you have to use a high anonymous proxy server ,this proxy server is a third computer between the the client's(hacker's)  computer & victim's computer.(or web server)

so normal anonymous proxy will hide you ip but not it's own ip so this kind of proxy server can be detected !
but the high anonymous proxy will not be detected as proxy server . so use this kind of proxy server
google it to know more about it. okay so here is site which is providing free proxy servers :alive proxy.com
to set the proxy server's ip on your browser first go to the site and pick up the ip .
e.g. :  218.182.134.23:8080 there is the port number after the colon mark (:) .
know note down this & open your browser i'm using Mozilla Firefox so on mozilla go to options menu > advance setting >select the network tab  now click on connection settings n give the ip address as shown  below :
now you have connected via ip address ! now serf the internet with high privacy ! in the next post i will tell you some user ful software to hide ip . so stay tuned :)
Enjoy......

SCAN 3G COVERAGE IN YOUR CITY

hello friends we all know that now 3G is in India , but i think we still suffering with 3g coverage .
by the way as i wrote a review on my new 3g mobile i found this trick while doing some setting on it.
so as we all know we can't check all Operator's 3g coverage in our area without installing all SIM Card's (Lol) or asking Customer care officer for coverage detail in Our Area .so today i'm going to share my latest trick (may be you don't know about that .)
so first of all i would like to say you need a 3G handset (lol) without it, we can't do this .
so lets open Menu On your 3G Mobile i'm using Nokia E5 here for example .okay, so now go to settings you will find it on control panel on you Nokia Mobile .
now go to phone settings  ,Network,  now select UMTS On Network Mode settings .
okay now go to operator selection settings and select Manual
wait for few seconds you mobile will search all List Of 3G Operators unfortunately in My Area have Only BSNL 3G Docomo is Still missing here.... :( check out the screen shot :
so this was my poor but effective Trick  to Find 3G Operators In Our Area :)
so Share this page on your Facebook wall if you like it .
& Enjoy........
